Slow and steady puts Bremar ahead in race
CG Insurance is encouraging motorists to slow down through its sponsorship of the second annual CG Slow Race.
The “race” last weekend, held as part of Scooter Mart Motor Fest on Front Street on Sunday, challenged riders to demonstrate their control and precision skills by travelling 50ft as slowly as possible without putting their feet down.
Shawn Bremar claimed the snail-shaped title of the slowest rider at this year’s event, with Queena Reid and Diaz Steede placing second and third, respectively.
As part of his prize, Mr Bremar was given a year’s worth of CG bike insurance.
Naz Farrow, chief executive of CG Insurance, said: “Given the high number of road accidents this year, the aim of the CG Slow Race is to encourage and inspire safer driving habits.
“Our support for the CG Slow Race underscores our commitment to promoting cautious driving and foster a culture of safety on Bermuda’s roads.
“This dedication extends beyond the event, as we continuously work on initiatives that enhance road safety and protect the wellbeing of all road users.”
A CG spokeswoman added that the event “fostered camaraderie and community involvement” and aligned with the insurer’s mission to raise awareness about responsible driving on the island’s roads.
