One of the motorists involved in a four-vehicle crash on Tuesday has died.

The 19-year-old male was one of three motorcyclists involved in a collision with a car on North Shore Road near the junction of Church Lane, Pembroke, shortly before 9.30pm.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found a man lying unresponsive in the road with a serious head injury.

They immediately began life-saving measures and continued until an ambulance arrived and took the man to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition and was pronounced dead on Thursday.

The other two motorcycle riders and a passenger on one of the bikes sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to hospital to be assessed.

The male motorcar driver and his female passenger did not appear to be injured.

An investigation into this incident has begun and anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Milton Hill on 515-2481 or by e-mail at mjhill@bps.bm.

It is the third road death of the year.
