Island carrier BermudAir announced a new milestone in its operation with the imminent arrival of another aircraft to its fleet.

The modern Embraer E190 indicates a “significant step” in the airline’s strategic expansion, the company said.

BermudAir added that it also signals the airline’s commitment to delivering reliable, premium air service between the island and key North American destinations.

Adam Scott, the company’s chief executive and founder, said: “The arrival of our fourth aircraft represents more than just expansion — it’s about strengthening the backbone of our operations.

“With this E190, we’re building in the resiliency and flexibility needed to deliver the high reliability and comfort our passengers expect.

“We’re also proud to once again work with Azorra and to recognise XBTO, one of our earliest and most valued partners.”

The new aircraft is leased through Azorra, a global aircraft leasing firm with significant experience in the Embraer fleet family.

BermudAir said the partnership between the two entities reflects a shared commitment to safe, efficient and sustainable fleet growth.

Carrying the name XBTO, the airline said the aircraft paid tribute to the XBTO Group, a global digital asset and financial services firm with strong ties to Bermuda.

It said XBTO has been a key supporter of BermudAir since its inception as it shares the airline’s vision of elevating the island’s global connectivity and economic reach.

Philippe Bekhazi, the chief executive of XBTO, said: “We’re honoured to see the XBTO name take flight.

“This aircraft reflects our belief in Bermuda’s future and in strategic partnerships that drive long-term impact.

“BermudAir embodies that spirit and we’re proud to support their continued growth.”

The airline said the new aircraft will increase its capacity and support frequency growth. It will also critically enhance its operational flexibility and network resiliency.

The addition is expected to put the carrier in a better position to maintain schedule integrity, provide reliable back-up during maintenance or weather-related disruptions and respond to surges in demand — especially during peak travel periods.
