Boy, 9, injured in two-vehicle collision in Southampton

A nine-year-old boy was injured on Saturday evening in a two-vehicle collision in Southampton.

Police said the incident happened at about 7.40pm on Middle Road near its junction with Tribe Road No 3.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that one car, travelling in an easterly direction, attempted to make a right-hand turn into a private driveway when another car, also travelling east, was involved in a collision from behind.

The boy, who was the only one injured in the collision, was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment but he was later discharged as his injuries were “not deemed to be serious”.

The spokesman said: “The roadway remained closed for approximately four hours after the collision to allow for the scene to be processed by traffic collision investigators.”
