Electric vehicle consultation phase closes in a week

The consultation period for setting up electric vehicle charging ports has one week left before closing to the public, the Government has announced.

The National Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Policy Goals and Objectives Consultation will accept feedback until Sunday.

Electric vehicles were seen as a necessity after the 2022 Throne Speech revealed that the Government was considering phasing out combustion engine vehicles.

The National Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Committee, a part of the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, has drafted policy goals.

Anyone who wishes to review the NEVCI Policy Goals and Objectives can do so on the Government’s forum website.

Feedback can be shared through the online stakeholder questionnaire.
