The US Federal Aviation Administration will inspect navigation aids at LF Wade International Airport next week.

A statement from the Bermuda Airport Authority said that the FAA will conduct the inspection aboard a special-purpose aircraft on August 4 and 5.

The team will be assisted on the ground by the authority’s air traffic engineering team.

“During this period, the public may observe the aircraft performing low-altitude approaches and flight manoeuvres in the vicinity of the airport, which are a routine part of the inspection process,” the statement added.

“Flight inspections are critical to ensuring the safety and reliability of air navigation systems.

“The inspections ensure that the air navigation aids are operating within required specifications.”
