A single-lane closure on Palmetto Road in Pembroke will be extended to facilitate repair works to the Glebe Road bridge.
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment said the revised closure period will run from August 15 to September 19.
Working hours will be from 7am to 7pm daily.
Sunrise Construction representatives will manage traffic control with temporary traffic lights in place.
The spokesman said: “Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes via Marsh Folly Road and Bishop Spencer Road.
“Those travelling through the affected section should expect delays and proceed with caution.”
Any questions about the works can be directed to Bernard Kunst, the general manager of Sunrise Construction, on 541-3387.
