Work on Middle Road will cause route 3 buses to take an alternative course for a portion of the service on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Public Transportation said that because of the works, scheduled to take place between Store Hill and North Shore Road, buses will steer away from the area.

Westbound buses will turn down Tee Street to South Road, turn right onto Sayle Road, turn back to South Road and continue to Knapton Hill, where they will resume their regular route at Harrington Sound Road.

Eastbound buses, travelling towards Hamilton, will adopt the same route in reverse.

The spokeswoman added that in the event of inclement weather on Tuesday, the detour would be implemented on Wednesday instead.

“Passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time,” she said.

“The DPT appreciates the public’s understanding and co-operation during this temporary adjustment.”
