Weekend race to affect traffic

The Bermuda Bicycle Association is conducting a time trial on South Road on Sunday (Photograph supplied)

A bicycle race will affect traffic along South Road on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment announced.

A spokesman said 11 to 14-year-olds competing in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Winners Edge time-trial will cycle from South Road at Stonington Avenue to Horseshoe Road and back, while all other participants will race to the Church Bay bus layby and return to Stonington Avenue.

Race marshals will direct traffic along the route during the event, set to take place between 7.30am and 9am.

All roads are expected to remain open, but police are authorised to close off streets as authorised by the commissioner.

Questions can be directed to race representative Chris Roque at 777-3278.
