Bicycle race to affect Sunday morning traffic

Several Hamilton streets will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning to accommodate a race hosted by the Bermuda Bicycle Association.

A spokeswoman for the City of Hamilton said it would affect Front Street between Burnaby Hill and Bermudiana Road; Reid Street between Queen Street and Burnaby Street; Burnaby Hill between Front Street and Reid Street; and Par-la-Ville Road between Church Street and Front Street, with diversions and traffic signs in place.

It will start at 7am, with the roads expected to reopen by noon.

An additional road closure is planned for Front Street between 5.30am on Saturday until 7pm on Sunday between Parliament Street and Burnaby Street to allow the removal of a crane involved in construction at 91 Front Street.

The spokeswoman said that, due to the safety risks, the public should keep this area as clear as possible. Diversion signs and barriers will be in place.
