Technicians are working to restore traffic lights at the junction of Church Street and Burnaby Street in Hamilton.
A spokeswoman for the city said staff were alerted to the issue this morning.
She added: “City technicians are now on site working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
“We appreciate the public’s patience while repairs are carried out.”
