An early-morning crash more than a month ago has resulted in the tenth road fatality of the year, police announced today.

A police spokesman said that officers were on patrol in the area of the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium in Devonshire at about 2.35am on October 29.

As officers approached the roundabout at the junction of Frog Lane, Montpelier Road and Parsons Road, they found two 17-year-old boys lying in the road near a motorcycle in the westbound lane of Parsons Road.

Police contacted emergency services as they realised both required medical attention.

EMTs attended to the two at the scene and transported them to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

One was later transferred to an overseas medical centre for continued treatment but has succumbed to his injuries.

The spokesman said that an investigation into the death has now started.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses made the same day the incident occurred.

Anyone with information on the incident was urged to contact Inspector Anthony Smith on 247-1431 or e-mail asmith@bps.bm as soon as possible.
