Event and transport of road material to affect traffic
A community gathering in Pembroke on Sunday will result in the closure of a section of a street on the outskirts of Hamilton, the Ministry of Public Work announced.
Curving Avenue will be closed from noon until 7pm to accommodate Christmas on the Curve, between King Street and 17 Curving Avenue.
Representatives of the Church of God of Prophecy will manage traffic and motorists were advised to avoid the area and use Parsons Road and Happy Valley Road as alternative routes.
Questions should be directed to Erna DeGraff, a church representative, on 335-0984.
Meanwhile, the ministry advised that a high volume of government and contractors’ trucks will transport aggregate material from Wednesday through Saturday between Penno’s Wharf, St George’s and the Government Quarry in Hamilton Parish.
The operations are scheduled to occur daily between 7.30am and 9pm.
Drivers should anticipate increased activity and use caution along the Blue Hole Hill roundabout, the Causeway, Kindley Field Road and Mullet Bay Road at the East End.
