Police name teen who died in Devonshire crash
Police have named a teenager who lost his life in an October crash.
A spokesman said officers found Jai Simmons, 17, and another 17-year-old male lying near a motorbike near Parsons Road’s junction with Roberts Avenue, at about 2.35am on October 29.
Both boys were treated at the scene and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
One teenager was discharged from KEMH, but Mr Simmons was transferred overseas for further medical treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
Mr Simmons is the tenth person to die on Bermuda’s roads this year.
The spokesman said: “The BPS extends condolences to his family and loved ones.
“A BPS Family Liaison Officer is providing necessary assistance to his family during this difficult time.”
Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information should contact Inspector Anthony Smith on 247-1431 or asmith@bps.bm, or call the main police number at 295-0011.
