A crash involving two motor cars on Ord Road this afternoon has led to traffic diversions and a damaged utility pole, but no injuries.

A police spokesman said that at about 6.17pm police responded to a report of the incident near the junction with Cherry Lane in Warwick.

He said one driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired and the roadway was closed to traffic.

The spokesman said details were limited but reports indicate one of the vehicles was being driven west along Ord Road when it hit a parked car.

This also resulted in damage to a nearby utility pole.

The spokesman said: “Both vehicles were extensively damaged but there were no reported injuries.”
