A motorcycle rider was taken to hospital early this morning with severe leg injuries after he lost control of his bike and veered off an embankment.

Police said the rider was travelling west on South Road near the Coral Beach & Tennis Club tennis courts around midnight when he lost control of the motorcycle and veered off the roadway over an embankment.

He sustained severe leg injuries and was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment, Police said.

Traffic was diverted while police processed the scene and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Constable Ameen Azeez.
