Runners to affect traffic on Sunday
An event scheduled for the Bermuda Union of Teachers will affect traffic in Pembroke and surrounding areas on Sunday.
The 1.6k and 5k Run/Walk will take place between 8.30am and 11am, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment advised.
The event will start and end at the West Pembroke Primary School.
No road closures are planned, but traffic controls will be in place, with drivers advised to avoid the route during the scheduled time and heed police officers and race marshals.
Participants will exit left from the school and continue along North Shore Road until its intersection with Spanish Point Road and St John's Road.
After proceeding along St John's Road, they will exit the roundabout at the intersection of St John's Road and Pitts Bay Road then head onto Pitts Bay Road.
The participants will then turn left onto Serpentine Road and left onto Woodlands Road.
They will turn right onto Euclid Avenue and make a left onto St John's Road.
The participants will then turn right onto Berkeley Road and left onto North Shore Road then proceed to the finish line at the school.
Questions about the event should be directed to race representatives Jonathan Tankard on 595-0056 or Denise Booth on 335-7042.
