Pink Route service offline for urgent repairs

Ferry service to Paget and Warwick has been halted to allow “urgent repairs” on the vessel servicing the Pink Route.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Marine and Ports Services said: “Ferry service is suspended, effective this afternoon and until further notice.

“Marine and Ports Services apologises to the public for this service interruption and any inconvenience it may cause.”

Service along the route has faced repeated challenges in recent years.

In July 2025, the Government restricted operations on the Pink Route to weekdays only with seven scheduled loops along the route per day.

However, even after the reduction in service, mechanical issues with the ferries caused it to be sporadically halted.

The reduction of service sparked an online petition with more than 1,000 people signing up to urge the Government to bolster the route — and a planning application to build a marina on Hinson Island to assist residents.
