A female pillion passenger died after a bike crash in St George’s this evening, police announced.

The Bermuda Police Service said officers and medical personnel responded to a reported crash, near Stone Crusher Corner on Kindley Field Road, at about 7.45pm.

A spokesman said: “It was reported the male motorcycle rider had lost control of the vehicle, which came off the roadway and landed in the water nearby, and that a pillion passenger may have also been in the water.

“Upon arrival officers immediately began a search of the shoreline and found the female pillion passenger unresponsive in the water.

“The bike rider was conscious and alert, lying on the roadside.”

The woman was pulled from the water and life-saving measures were performed at the scene and continued in an ambulance on the way to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

She is the third person to die on Bermuda’s roads in 2026.

An investigation into the incident has started.
