A car crash in Paget brought down a utility pole and forced traffic to be diverted from South Road.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that shortly after 9pm yesterday, police were dispatched to a single-vehicle road traffic incident involving a motor car just west of the junction of South Road and Tee Street, Devonshire.

He said the vehicle hit a utility pole and overturned onto its roof.

“The occupants were able to exit the vehicle,” he confirmed.

The crash resulted in the utility pole being brought down and the roadway is now blocked.

The spokesman said traffic diversions were in place at Tee Street and Point Finger Road, and motorists were urged to avoid the area.

As of 6.46am today, the Belco Outage Map listed 67 customers without power in the area.
