The Department of Public Transportation has warned that work on Spanish Point Road in Pembroke will impact bus service in the area from today.

The work, which will start near the Spanish Point Boat Club and progress east to the Cox’s Hill Roundabout, will affect the Route 4 bus service.

A government spokeswoman said: “Due to lane closures, the presence of paving equipment and the narrow road width of portions of Spanish Point Road, Route 4 buses will be unable to travel beyond the Spanish Point Road, North Shore Road intersection whilst paving works are in progress.

“Route 4 buses will be impacted on weekdays starting at approximately 7.30am until the Ministry of Public Works reopens the road in full.

“A shuttle loop using a minibus will run between the Spanish Point turnaround and the intersection of Spanish Point Road and North Shore Road between 7.30am and 9.30am, and between 4.30pm and 6.30pm when paving is taking place.

“Outside these hours and during paving, Spanish Point Road beyond this intersection will not be serviced.”

The disruptions are expected to continue until April 10.
