Motorists have been urged to be cautious on Saturday morning as the Ed Sherlock 8k Run/Walk takes to the roads of Southampton and Warwick.

The event is scheduled to kick off at 8am with runners setting out from the junction of Eastdale Lane and South Road, with participants travelling down South Road, Spice Hill Road, Camp Hill Road before reaching Middle Road.

Runners will then continue west to Barnes Corner before turning back onto South Road and travelling east to the finish line at Southampton Rangers Sports Club.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and Environment said that race marshals will be in place managing traffic along the route, but there would not be any road closures.

The spokesman said: “Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly, use caution, and follow the directions of race marshals during the event.”
