Police: motorcyclist’s injuries less serious than feared

A motorcyclist involved in a traffic collision last night received less serious injuries than initially believed, police said today.

The collision took place near the intersection of Overview Hill and North Shore Road in Pembroke at about 7.25pm between the motorcyclist and a car.

The rider, a 42-year-old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to head injuries that were ultimately deemed non-life threatening.

The driver, a 58-year-old Pembroke man, sustained minor injuries.

Both vehicles were damaged and traffic was diverted from the scene for about three hours.
