May 31 due date for boats and moorings licences

Boat and mooring licences must be renewed by May 31 (File Photograph)

Boat and mooring owners have must renew their licences by the end of next month, the Department of Marine and Ports said today.

Decals for 2027 must be in place by June 1. Licences renewed after May 31 will incur a late fee.

Licensees have until midnight on May 31 to re-register, or by 4.30pm on May 29 if renewing in person.

Owners must ensure the department has their correct address on file, with transfers to be completed in person with photo ID at its boats and moorings office on 108 Middle Road in Paget.

Renewal notices are no longer being sent out. Once a customer has provided updated information, a link will be sent to their e-mail, allowing them to access their information online in future.

Payment can be made with cash or credit card at the office, open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday through Friday, or online once people register. Confirmation of online payments will be automatically mailed.

A spokeswoman said: “Online payments conducted the week prior to June 1 may risk not receiving the decals on time. Marine and Ports is not responsible for lost mail.”

The public can visit marineandports.bm to view licensing fees and contact 444-1221, 246-8222 or boatsandmoorings@gov.bm to update their details.
