Serious motorcycle crash stops traffic at Warwick intersection

A major Warwick roadway is expected to be blocked off for an extended period of time after a serious motorcycle crash, police have said.

A spokesman confirmed that officers and EMTs were called to Middle Road near its intersection with Sleepy Hollow Lane at about 4.35pm.

First responders found an unconscious male rider and transported him to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are considered serious.

The roadway has been blocked off as the scene is processed.

Traffic diversions are in place at the Middle Road junctions of Tamarind Vale and Burnt House Hill.

The police spokesman urged motorists to use Harbour Road and South Road to reach their destinations.
