Gale-force winds are expected to ease in time for Christmas Day, but cold and cloudy conditions will likely persist.

The Bermuda Weather Service said in its 11.30am public forecast that a passing cold front will continue to bring windy weather and gale-force gusts into this evening before settling briefly tomorrow.

The forecast discussion stated: “The headline for Christmas Day will be another cold blast of Canadian air on the northerly wind flow, making it feel quite wintry by Bermuda standards.”

However, the wet and windy weather is expected to resume on Boxing Day as another cold front passes over the island.

A gale warning is in effect for the island this afternoon and this evening, while a small craft warning will be in place late Thursday evening until Friday night.
