‘European trip was one I will never forget I suggest everyone take one’
Our journey began at the LF Wade International Airport, and everybody was excited about our tour to London, Paris, and Barcelona (Go Barca!). We said our goodbyes to our parents and we were off to London (Oooh yeah!). But the flight there was hard to bear. Seven hours sitting in a seat is not my style, but at least the entertainment wasn’t boring. Finally we landed in London and everyone was exhausted. We got on a tour bus and the whole journey to the hotel we were focused on the amazing cars. There were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Bentleys. I was so excited that I was going to see Wembley Stadium (the greatest stadium to ever grace the Earth). The best part was our hotel was right next to Wembley, so every morning when we woke up in London, it was right outside my window. When we got to the hotel, our rooms weren’t ready, so we went to McDonalds for breakfast. After a good meal we met our tour guide Shawn. He was a cool guy from Ireland with a cool accent. We took a long bus ride on a double-decker bus, which I always wanted to ride on, to Piccadilly Circus. We were with other students from Canada. Along the way, our first stop was Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. We walked and shopped in an area with loads of street vendors and entertainers and I had my first Fanta soda. It had the most extraordinary taste. We also got to see Buckingham Palace and the London Tower where the ‘Crown Jewels’ were on display. The last two days we managed to shop around Piccadilly Circus and buy football jerseys, football boots, and soccer cards. It was a great final day in London. We got to France on the Eurostar, a train that took us straight through the English Channel and into Paris, France. I got a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, which looked different than TV. We left Paris on a night train, a very old train with four beds in a room and arrived in Barcelona, Spain.I was finally in the place where football lives. Every store had FC Barcelona accessories. We visited the Barcelona stadium and we were able to buy Barcelona jerseys and gifts. Everyone was excited, especially the boys. Barcelona stadium was so large with thousands of seats. The European trip was a long one but one I will never forget. I would suggest that everyone take a European trip but I would advise them to make sure they have a UK passport first. It made travelling so much easier!l Special thanks to our sponsors and supporters You contributed ‘big time’ to the success of our trip:HSBC Bank Bermuda, Applebys, Colonial Life Insurance, Hamilton Lions Club, Lions Club of Bermuda, The Supermart, White and Sons, Lindo’s Group of Companies, Dr Danette Ming and Ms Marita Grimes, of Bermuda Immigration, Ms Neetika Arora, executive officer at Government House, Mrs Cheryl Lister, Mr Lionel Bartley, Ms Sandra Bryan, Mrs Oneeka Williams, Mr Noel Minors, St Johnn’s AME Church, CBA principal, staff and students, parents .
