Seasonal activities at Saltus: Students at Saltus Grammar School prepared for the holiday season in a variety of ways. The Upper Primary (Saltus Year 5 and 6) presented a Christmas play, “Pan” a version of Peter Pan which includes Santa, Mrs. Claus and dancing reindeer. Lisa Maule (Head of Performing Arts), Steve Miles , and Rachel Hylton-Smith, who are music teachers, had three gingerbread house making and decorating sessions for their advisory classes, secondary students, boys and girls, in different year groups. Allison Simmons of Ariel’s Bakery pre-baked the gingerbread and provided the icing and candy for decoration. She also demonstrated how to pipe the icing to “glue” the pieces of gingerbread together to make the houses and how to use the icing to decorate.
