Such a pleasure to serve you Students salute their grandparents at special lunch

Have you ever heard of a Grandparents lunching? Well, here at Harrington Sound Primary, the Primary 5 team planned a grandparents’ lunch at the Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo.This day was to celebrate grandparents and for students to show their gratitude and respect to their special family member. The students brought in all types of sandwiches, cupcakes, brownies and cookies that they had made for their grandparents to enjoy. Each student greeted their family members at the entrance to the Aquarium. The students had decorated the tables with fresh flowers in preparation for this special occasion. Students served their grandparents in great manner. It was a privilege to show their respect and love. The students performed a dance to the song ‘Proud to be Bermudian’ led by their teacher Ms Allen.Ms Allen who commented that, ‘I was extremely proud and excited to see my students show their love towards their grandparents. When we sang the song to the grandparents it was priceless. They were definitely proud to be Bermudian!”When asked about where the idea came from she replied, “Actually, I have done this type of event before at Devil’s Hole club as a community service project about four years ago. It was well received so we thought it was time to do it again to show how we care.”Our school was very honoured to be allowed to use the Aquarium to host our special community event. We hope to do the same next year!
