By design: Victor Scott Primary students got an insight into what fills a real estate agent’s day. They learned about different houses and buildings that have been built recently and looked at the architectural designs and house plans.

On June 1st, 2012 the Victor Scott Primary School (VSS) hosted a career day for their Primary One through to Primary Six students. The main point of the event was to show them a little bit more about some of the jobs that are out in the world. The Primary One to Primary Three students were allocated to three different guests as were the Primary Four to Primary Six students. The event started in the afternoon around 1.30pm. At 1.15 the students were split up into their groups with their assigned teachers. Before that the guests arrived at 1.10 to start to set up for the children in the designated location. The careers featured were a makeup artist, lawyer, real-estate agebt, Bermuda Police K-9 unit, the gardeners and some personal trainers.Taquan Swan said his favourite part of the career day was the makeup artist.Qualae Brangman said that her favourite part was meeting the the lawyers.Nevada Ray said that the career day was very fun and she enjoyed it a lot.The Victor Scott career day was very enjoyable and exiting for the children to see a little bit of careers. But the most important thing was that the presenters took time out of their busy schedules to come to our school and talk a little about what they do.For a person to come to school and talk to a lot of children it takes a lot of courage and love.It shows to the kids that there are people in the world that want them to become someone successful in their lives.

Math matters: During a career afternoon at Victor Scott Primary, students learned how to find the area of a room or building, and how that relates to price per square foot to build and rent in Bermuda.
