Enjoy your transition from high school

The emotions of making the switch from high school to university and the work force are challenging.

To make the transition easier, understand that just as there will be differences, there will be similarities.

The most useful similarity is preparation. It has been drilled in our brains by many of our educators that being prepared is essential to success.

It can also ease your mind. Attending high school, your first year can be a little difficult.

Stress and anxiety are at an ultimate high as you wonder what new experiences in your life it will bring.

How will you fit in? Is it going to be academically challenging? What are the major requirements?

These are some of the questions that may be asked by students.

As you progress from your first two years in high school, you become more prepared to what is required for your third and fourth year.

While all year levels of education are important, your third year is very important.

This is a year where you can make any adjustments that may be needed in order to stay on track for receiving a high school diploma.

Let me highlight, “failing grades have an effect on your overall grade that brings down your Grade Point Average.

In order to graduate from high school you need a GPA of at least 2.0 but strive toward the ultimate 4.0.

During your last year, if you have stuck to the preparation for success plan, you will start to see the benefits of the hard labour you have trudged through from S1 to S3.

After all, it is those three years that will be on the transcript that will accompany your college applications during your S4 year.

It will also be good if you remember that teachers are there to help you.

This too, I'm sure, has already been drilled into your heads many times, and I'm going to drill it even deeper.

High school teachers want to make sure you openly understand all materials. Simply keep in mind they are only trying to help you.

It is a known fact that college professors are not like high school teachers.

High school teachers are the last of your nurturing educators that prepare you for the big leagues of college and the workforce.

While in high school, become your own research agent.

Find out the more suitable colleges and necessary courses for your career choice whether it is local or overseas.

If you don't quite have a choice of a career in mind, your research may just expose your mind to one. Learn to enjoy your journey and be desirous of your destiny.

This will help you to do exceedingly well in your studies leaving with a high school diploma.

It will also help make the conversion to university less troublesome.

In conclusion, here is a guarantee once you've made it: “When you look back over your transitional journey, the satisfaction of accomplishments through educational and personal growth are always rewarding”.
