Creative writing club
Do you consider yourself a writer? Does thinking outside of the box come naturally to you? Do the words you write walk right off the page and land smack dab into the real world?
If so, then you must be a creative writer.
Now that you’ve figured that out, just where on earth do you go to nurture that creative side of your brain?
Well, how about CedarBridge Academy every Thursday, from 3:30 to 4:30 where students, who have been diagnosed as creative writers, gather in room S220 for some “writing therapy.” Hosted by star-English teacher, Mrs. Carolyn Amaral, come and join this club to learn different writing techniques that will spice up your stories, for sure.
Classes begin with a fun writing warm-up exercises, games, story critiques and some all-important instruction.
The club is organized in a casual workshop environment where students can freely share ideas and grow as writers. Several of our members (students from S1 to S4) are working towards entering short stories in the upcoming Dr. Stanley Ratteray Memorial Christmas Short Story Contest, sponsored by The Royal Gazette. By the way, just to keep the creative juices flowing, we also enjoy delicious homemade treats made by Mrs Amaral.
This club is a fun and helpful way for students to write freely with their own style and ideas without having to stick to the rules. Anyone who loves to write should be a part of the club. In the words of Rick Demarinis: “Writing isn’t hard work, writing is hard play.”
See you next Thursday.
