Maths challenge a source of pride
On Sunday, November 22, CTY Bermuda held a Math Olympiad. I took part feeling that I was ready to face this challenge in my maths studies.
As a participant, I like to be challenged by something like this and it was very challenging.
Yet, somehow, not too challenging to break a sweat or anything. I am very proud of myself for the things that I have achieved in mathematics.
A number of Warwick Academy students (such as me), ranging from year 6 all the way up to year 11, had entered.
The results were:
• Year 6: Shivani Manimaran 2nd; Kaliyah Lee-Tucker 3rd; Sarah Francoeur 4th; Kwame Naylor 6th
• Year 7: Dylan Thomas 4th; Kirsty Pollett 5th; Tayla Horan 6th
• Year 8: Benjamin Jones 6th; Jude Snelling 7th
• Year 9: Katherine Mason 1st; Anna Francoeur 2nd
• Year 10: Maya Yates 1st; Clara Mallon 6th
• Year 11: Nicholas Siese 3rd
Thank you CTY for giving children a wonderful start on their road to being great mathematicians, we all appreciate it!
