The S4 team at CedarBridge Academy wishes to extend a huge congratulations to Deshae Darrell, an S4 student, who has secured a full football scholarship to Daytona State College, Daytona, Florida.

Deshae had this to say about her achievement: “I was excited and thankful to get this scholarship because it will help me to get my education and to play the sport that I love.”

Her coach, Mr LeVar Bassett shared similar sentiments. He noted that Deshae has improved over the years as a result of setting goals and attainable targets both on and off the field. Coach Bassett has helped Deshae in the area and he noted that she is a great leader who has matured and garnered a better understanding of the game and a team approach to winning. “I am very excited about her future collegiate career,” Bassett added.

During the school’s football league, Deshae has been instrumental in securing many victories for CedarBridge Academy. Quite recently, she captained a team from CBA to play in the Disney President’s Cup in Orlando, Florida. Bassett said that Deshae played exceptionally well scoring two goals including a range of assists in the entire tournament which comprised of five games.

He also said that Deshae scored the winning goal in the final game where CBA defeated a thirteenth-ranked team from New York 1-0. Deshae continues to dominate on the football field and she constantly works to improve her game. This year alone, Deshae has scored 20 goals and had nine assists in all competitions, including their trip to the Disney President’s Cup and the BSSF All-star game. The S4 team certainly wishes Deshae all the best in her future endeavours. Well done Deshae — we are proud of you!
