Expanding their horizons

Prehensile friend: BHS pupil Mia Oleksak with an elephant during the school’s spring break 2018 trip to Thailand

As well as leading the way in Steam education in Bermuda, BHS also provides its students with numerous overseas educational experiences through its membership with the Round Square Organisation.

BHS has been a Global Round Square member since 2005, and is the only school in Bermuda to be a part of this international organisation.

Round Square is a coalition of 150 schools around the world which share a commitment, beyond academic excellence, to personal development and responsibility based around six Ideals: Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service.

The Round Square programme gives BHS students fantastic opportunities to travel and experience different cultures through conferences, exchanges and service projects.

Every student who attends a Round Square trip comes home with increased confidence, a broader world-view, a greater appreciation for how fortunate they are, and new, lifelong friends. Over the Spring Break, over 80 students travelled to Ecuador, Spain, Thailand, and Washington DC.
