Man stabbed near club
A 37-year-old Sandys man was in a stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial yesterday after being stabbed near the Leopards Club in Hamilton.
The attack happened around midnight on Saturday evening/Sunday morning and is being investigated, according to police.
A police spokesman said officers attended the area of Angle Street and Brunswick Street, where the victim had been assaulted by another man with a bladed article. Sources told The Royal Gazette that the weapon used in the attack was a machete.
The assailant was described by police as a short, black male of medium build. He was wearing a tan or grey hooded top and dark pants at the time of the incident.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
