A Smith’s man has appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.

The 62-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reason, pleaded not guilty to nine charges of indecent touching and intruding on the privacy of the girl. The offences are alleged to have taken place between September 2013 and August 2014.

The defendant was released on bail pending his trial, which will be heard at Magistrates’ Court on March 25.
