A Pembroke man accused of assaulting a woman was bailed in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

It is alleged that 34-year-old Seymour Ramatar unlawfully assaulted Shantina Cumberbatch and did her bodily harm in Pembroke on February 9.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $5,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that Mr Ramatar have no contact with the complainant.

A trial date was set for June 19.
