Moore to lead CAC medal push

Medal hope: Moore

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association have announced their team for the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Barbados next week.

Madelyn Moore, Skylar Powell, Ashley Irby, Philip Hagen, Jesse Washington, Jack Harvey, Keagan Woolley, and Evan Farrow have all reached the minimum of two AAA time standards.

Moore, 15, is among the top performers in the squad, making her first trip to the Championships with multiple Carifta gold medals under her belt.

“Maddy is well known in Bermuda for her outstanding performances over the last few years at Carifta,” a Basa spokesperson said.

“She will be looking to continue her strong performances against some familiar competitors along with some different challengers.”

Washington, 16, another decorated Carifta swimmer, will be trying to make his mark as he moves up to a higher level of competition with his new age group.

Bermuda will be up against the 28 other countries from the region invited to participate.
