Man denies bus driver attack

A Pembroke man has denied attacking a female bus driver and possessing a weapon.

Robert Harris, 69, is accused of arguing with the driver after she stopped to pick up passengers on Point Finger Road, Paget.

The defendant allegedly said that drivers always complained about his smell, before hitting her arm with a bag and threatening her with a knife and corkscrew once he had been ejected from the bus.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Mr Harris on $5,000 bail with a like surety, and ordered him to return to court for mention on August 19.
