Motorcyclist crashes into concrete pillar

A motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after crashing his scooter into a concrete pillar.The 44-year-old man, from Warwick, sustained injuries in the incident outside a home near Grotto Bay on Blue Hole Hill, Hamilton Parish, at about 8.45pm on Saturday.He was helped at the scene by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service staff before being taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was later admitted to a general ward.The victim, who was riding a 50cc rental scooter, was arrested and placed on police bail.The incident led to traffic delays while police processed the scene.Witnesses should call Constable Latasha Celestine on 247-1078 or Constable Wesley Watson on 247-1510.
