Be patient, not selfish

Dear Sir,

I am asking that you post this letter for the many people who will to be on the water for the America’s Cup.

My punt is one of many punts tied against the fence at Riddell’s Bay. On Sunday, I went to retrieve my punt to get out to my boat.

To my surprise and disappointment, car number 42829 was parked in front of it. I had no way of getting it out. The front wheel of the car was between two trailer wheels, making it impossible to move.

If there was more space, I might have tried to move the punt — and damaged the car and the punt in the process.

I left a note on their windshield wiper and did not get to see the races. I left Riddell’s Bay dejected.

There is no legal recourse for this action other than to appeal for common sense. So I appeal to people in boating and docking areas to be aware, be patient and not be selfish.
