Contrasting view on canvassing
On tonight’s TV news (September 2, 2020), the Premier stated that canvassing has been an ongoing part of reaching out to constituents during the past few years.
During the past 50 years, I was visited by Eugene Cox once while living in Somerset, and in the past 33 years of living in Paget, I was visited by Anthony Richardson a few years ago.
We had a very embarrassing moment during one election when we went to vote, and my wife said to a lady in front of her to go ahead to vote, and her reply was “I am the PLP candidate”.
That was the first time either of us had met her! Twice in 50 years — is this a record?
So much for being out in the community — sorry to disagree with you, Mr Premier.
