PwC Bermuda on their mark for races
It’s not so much walking the talk, as running the talk for PwC Bermuda this weekend.
The company is title sponsor of the marathon and half-marathon races in The Royal Gazette Bermuda Triangle Challenge, and its staff are getting involved supporting and helping to marshal and operate a refreshment station for athletes on the course.
That’s not all, because 15 PwC employees will compete in the races during the weekend.
On Sunday, when the marathon and half-marathon take place, the company will host a “fan zone” at Barker’s Hill, Devonshire. More than 50 PwC volunteers cheer on the runners, serve as road marshals and operate area water and gel stops.
Of the staff taking part in the races, one is Edwina Arorash, who will run in Bermuda’s January marathon for the sixteenth time. She first competed in the event in 1997.
Colm Homan, PwC Bermuda partner, is competing in the Bermuda Triangle Full Challenge. He said: “As the title sponsor of the half and full marathon, we are especially excited that so many of our people will be participating. This annual event has been a Bermudian success for 45 years now, bringing our community and international participants together for an amazing race. We wish all of the runners the very best this weekend.”
PwC will be awarding trophies for first Bermuda male and female residents in the PwC Bermuda Half-Marathon.
The Royal Gazette Bermuda Triangle Challenge starts on Friday with the Butterfield Front Street Mile races, followed by the BF&M 10K Walk&Run on Saturday, starting on Frog Lane and finishing at North Field, Devonshire.
The PwC Bermuda Marathon will start in Dockyard, and the PwC Bermuda Half-Marathon will begin near Barr’s Bay Park, Hamilton, on Sunday. Both races will finish at Barr’s Bay Park.
