A 74-year-old taxi driver was arrested last night on suspicion of driving while impaired, according to police.

Police attended the scene of the accident on North Shore Road, Devonshire, just before 9pm, where the driver had apparently lost control and struck a wall.

A police spokesman said that an investigation had been launched.
