Easter message: Roman Catholic Church

The Right Reverend Wesley Spiewak, Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton

There is tension in all of us between believing and non-believing, which is a part of our spiritual journey.

To this part of me that believes, I want to be reminded of constantly, that the Risen Jesus lived a human life with suffering and a terrible death and it was during those sufferings that he broke through to God and brought humanity to Him.

This was so that we would not look at our troubles, sufferings and death as just a misfortune, but as a breaking through to get to God. To this part of me that disbelieves, I want to ask the question: if it is true that Jesus has risen, when I meet him, how will I look with my unwise disbelief?

Happy Easter!
