A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a truck in Southampton, police said today.

The 57-year-old rider was said to have suffered a wound to his neck in the incident.

A police spokesman said the motorcyclist, believed to be from Southampton, was taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.

The crash happened at the junction of Lighthouse Road and Harbour View Drive about 10pm last night.

No one else was injured, but both vehicles were damaged.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
