Female tourist dies in Hamilton Parish crash
A female tourist died yesterday after a motorcycle crash.
The victim, a 49-year-old American, was on a rental motorcycle that was in collision with a truck on North Shore Road, near Cottage Hill Road, Hamilton Parish, at about 1.45pm.
The woman, who has not been named, was the sixth road fatality of 2019.
A police spokesman confirmed: “Sadly, despite life-saving efforts, the female visitor involved has been pronounced dead at the hospital.”
The spokesman said CPR was performed at the scene before the woman was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Traffic diversions were set up as police examined the crash scene.
The police spokesman said the woman would not be identified until next of kin had been informed.
