Salute to police force
A salute to the island’s police service kicked off yesterday with the launch of Police Week 2019 at Hamilton Police Station.
The open house was a chance to welcome the public, especially youngsters, to look behind the scenes.
The annual week of community events continues today with a seniors’ tea at the Hamilton Princess&Beach Club — which will also host the awards banquet tomorrow at 6.30pm.
An ever-popular fixture of Police Week, the Gymkhana, will take to Police Field at Prospect in Devonshire from 10am on Saturday.
While the Sunday memorial, at the Police Cemetery in Prospect, pays tribute to officers and former officers who gave their lives in the service.
