TS Gonzalo not a threat to island


Tropical Storm Gonzalo is not a threat to Bermuda, the Bermuda Weather Service said today.

Forecasters predicted the closest approach to the island inside three days would be 1431 miles to the south at 9am tomorrow.

But they warned that the system could move closer to Bermuda afterwards, depending on its track.

The storm was 1528 miles south of Bermuda at noon today, moving west at about 18mph.

Gonzalo has winds of 40mph, with gusts of up to almost 52mph.
